You are correct. Condoms and porn usually not an issue, however, some Customs officer may ask you about awkward or uncomfortable subjects to try "rattle" you. The bro who msg me, told me the immigration questioned him relentlessly about the condoms and why he brought them, and asked him what he wanted to use them for etc... His nervousness led them to inspect his tablet and HP where they found more naked pics and porn, leading to further questioning and embarrassment.

I've crossed into USA many times, and they are well known for their aggressive customs agents who give everyone a hard time to sniff out potential smugglers:

"Why are you crossing here so late?"
"Why did you bring food?"
"Are you planning on getting a job here?"
"Why are you bringing so much stuff for a day trip?"

Anyways, the more you are prepared to deal with relentless and random questioning, the better off you will be when pressured by a customs/immigration officer.
