In the past couple of weeks or so the police have tracked and raided a number of escort services that advertised on the internet and also girls using wechat etc, thos has been reported in news services.
As to whether they are closing down all these or tracking the girls and raiding when the girls are working in a hotel room is anyone's guess.
Or it may be a case of hotel or hotel staff notifying the police.
As to sentence, this is sometimes dealt with via administrative detention - that is detention by police order (sometimes a few days sometimes longer - the longest I have heard of is 60 days) or by regular court prosecution. Of course you may be deported, lose your job, family becomes aware etc.

that's sad to hear it...expats working there needing a quick release and getting detained for few days to weeks? seems like singapore is a better place for expats..
