Need info from experience bros regarding which border crossing to take if travelling from HKIA T1 (arriving @7pm) to nearby Shenzhen Bao'an Airport area to put up for a night.

Any budget hotel to recommend as have a connecting flight @9am in the morning.

We in Hong Kong have managed to tear gas ourselves in the foot and the Prc visitors are staying away in droves. Watch out for great unprecedented low prices for hotel rooms coming soon and take advantage of this.

Hong Kong hotel rooms are notorious for its ridiculous lofty rates and recent events here may be an opportune time for you to enjoy all that Hong Kong has to offer at a reasonable price. Lots of action in the walk-ups, hotel walk-ins as well as Wanchai etc still. And of course all the traditional things which makes hongkong such a hot tourist destination.

Just an idea; don't know when such an opportunity will come up again in Hong Kong.

Up to this writing, except for one occurrence of 87 canisters of tear gas (not all that much actually) being deployed against protesters at one location a few days ago, everything has been very peaceful with the protesters displaying remarkable control, civility and restraint. Kudos to the youth of Hong Kong!

Unfortunately, there are indications that things are at present heating up with action a real possibility at midnight - in an hour's time.

But even if there ARE problems, I'd be quite sure that the general public - including tourists - who are not involved in the protests are gonna be very safe.

Sad…. So sad to see that Hong Kong is now so fractured, that the wound may never heal. Tragedy that happens when everybody thinks only for themselves and stop doing so for the greater good. The young naive protesters only thinking about their own future, the anti’s for their day-to-day living. NOBODY is 100% wrong or right, because everybody is entitled to their own POV. Especially sad to see that even amongst family and friends, discussions has now degenerate into the kind of personal attacks that is not useful and worse, has absolutely zilch to do with the subject matter.

So many black hands pulling the strings – and now even elevating it by sending in their Agent Provocateurs; where have we all seen this kind of barbaric behavior before? Is this the kind of Hong Kong we want to see in our future?

Really high time for everybody to step back and think properly! The problems facing Hong Kong is so many and varied, do NOT get hijacked into thinking that universal suffrage is the be-all solution. And do NOT let your emotions get the better of you. The majority is not always right and just because you see others do something, it does not mean that you have to follow and ….. add to the chaos.
